Case Study
Learner Journey
Kyle is a determined and self-managed young man, who is hardworking and committed to gaining an apprenticeship. He knew what direction he wanted to go in and that he wanted to work in the construction industry.
Kyle was extremely enthusiastic in contacting Optimum Skills Construction Academy. Starting as a trainee in September, Kyle was proactive with his spare time seeking his own work placement and after a successful 4-week work experience period gained an apprenticeship with National Brickwork Limited.

He was a great learner in the centre and great on site, working well with others. He knew what he had to do to progress at the Academy and asked questions when he wasn’t sure.
Kyle has developed his skills and has gone from not knowing anything about construction to being able to contribute to active construction projects with his new employer.
