Heading into Hospitality Routeway

A group of several learners took part in our Hospitality Routeway in Durham to gain the necessary skills and qualifications to be able to progress into employment. This is what a few of the learners thought about the course.

“I have learnt, food safety in the kitchen, what ingredients go into certain drinks, how to use a coffee machine, the importance of how you respond to customers. I’ve enjoyed meeting new people on the course, doing practical sessions to know what to do ourselves. Jane was also a very big help, made sure we understood everything clearly and made it fun. I can add my qualifications onto my CV, which hospitality is very big in the business industry.”

“I have learnt and refreshed skills that I already have as a barista, such as making various types of coffees, smoothies, and juices. I enjoyed the course as I’ve been taught new skills and gained certificates which I did not have. By doing this course it may help me gain employment and prove I’ve actually done barista work as I will have the up to date qualification.”

“I have really enjoyed the course, the tutor Jane was fantastic and super friendly if someone in the group was struggling she explained it really well. By achieving my food safety level 2 & barista skills I can now move on to opening my own business. This course has given me the confidence to be able to serve drinks to customers. I would definitely recommend this course to others as it gives you the qualifications to be able to secure a job in hospitality.”

“On the course, I’ve learnt how to make coffees as a barista, how to serve drinks, health and safety and risk prevention. I’ve enjoyed all of the course, the exam in food health and safety, the tuition from the trainers and also the ice breakers to get to know other students better. The course will help me with my career goals by enabling me with skills and certificates in food safety and hygiene and barista skills.”
