Customer Service Course Success – Middlesbrough
Case Study
Why did you enrol on this course?
“I have been out of work since January, and I really wanted to get back into work. I liked the look of the roles that were advertised.”
What has your learner journey been like to date?
“Even though I wasn’t sure about doing the course at first, I’m really glad I did. I don’t want to leave. I have learned so much more than just customer service. I don’t think I will ever forget about the LAST technique, which I learned during the course!
My confidence has really grown too and I am much happier joining in with group discussions and activities because I know the other learners won’t bully me. I think it helped that the class size was small, I wouldn’t have felt able to join in as much in a class at college.”
How do you feel you’ve progressed?
“I have learned a lot from each of the three parts of the course. Mental Health awareness was really interesting, and the tutor really helped to explain everything. I have learned that I already knew a lot about customer service and employability skills, but this course has refreshed that knowledge. I have also taken away the interview questions handout, which will help me be even more prepared in the future. I even got to boss the barista machine!”
What impact do you think this learning experience has had on you?
“I think the biggest impact has been on my confidence. I feel much more ready to go back into a workplace now.”
So, what happens next?
“I hope to get into an apprenticeship in business administration where I can also use my customer service skills. I think apprenticeships are a great way to earn and keep learning to develop for your future.”
