Our role is to provide the work experience opportunities and technical support to young people wishing to progress into apprenticeships. These traineeship programmes are designed to ensure that young people will be work ready and able to progress onto an apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience, in other words it is a great way to earn while you learn! Work Place Learning
Conventional 'training' is required to cover essential work-related skills, techniques and knowledge, which ensures a positive progressive approach. Importantly however, the most effective way to develop people is quite different from conventional skills training. They'll do it of course, but they won't enjoy it much because it's about work, not about themselves as people. The most effective way to develop people is instead to enable learning and personal development.

We are Optimum Skills Limited. We were set up in November 2013 as a training centre of excellence delivering high quality training to get young people work ready. We offer fully flexible programmes to ensure that learners and businesses have the right skills programmes established to meet the requirements of industry and the learner.

Our primary aim is to ensure young people are work ready and encourage take up in specific sectors, including the engineering, manufacturing and renewables sectors. Our whole organisation is established to deliver Ofsted outstanding through exceptional delivery of high quality teaching, assessment, learner support, leadership and management. One of our specialist areas includes the development of a centre to support Army resettlement programmes, specifically developing skills in training, assessing, coaching, mentoring and the delivery of GCSE English and Maths.

Back in August 2013 I started Baltics traineeship programme. Before I started the programme I was extremely quiet and uncomfortable talking to new people, after 12 weeks of building my confidence and doing some team work activities I progressed onto an apprenticeship with Optimum Skills and I am now answering the phone to new people and doing general office duties, I can now talk to new people confidently and clearly and enjoy socialising with others.
