Jess – Property Maintenance Level 2 Apprenticeship – Optimum Skills

Jess completed her apprenticeship in property maintenance with Optimum Skills and is now thriving in full time employment with her employer Ager Building Services. She started her journey with us as a Construction Trainee back in 2024 and built her skills throughout the traineeship and apprenticeship. Jess was put forward for her end-point assessment three months early, which highlights her hard work and dedication to her apprenticeship!

“I found the apprenticeship great and had a really good experience. I found the traineeship to be a good stepping stone, and I probably wouldn’t have gotten an apprenticeship without the traineeship first.

“The apprenticeship was quite fun; I found that my confidence naturally grew more and more as I got further into my apprenticeship. These are skills that you carry for the rest of your life, and the construction industry will always have a demand. My tutor Mark was always really supportive and helpful too which really helped.

“Del (from Ager) has also been extremely supportive and I have really enjoyed completing my apprenticeship with him. I am now employed full time, and I just recently got my own van too which Del kindly got me. ” – Jess

Jess’s advice for anyone looking to start an apprenticeship – “Just do it, don’t be put off. It is worth it and it has proven to be a great experience for me, especially since you can work, learn and earn at the same time.”
