The Opportunity
Are you looking to start a career in manufacturing and production while gaining a recognised qualification?
We are recruiting for a Processing Apprentice to join a well-established manufacturing business in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to learn how products move through a busy production environment.
You do not need previous manufacturing experience. We are looking for someone with the right attitude who is reliable, willing to learn and keen to build a long-term career.
Alongside your day-to-day role, you will complete a Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship, developing skills that you can use throughout your career in manufacturing, production and operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your duties will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day processing and production of products
- Preparing materials and products ready for different stages of production
- Operating equipment and machinery safely following full training
- Checking products to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Packing, labelling and preparing finished products
- Following production schedules and instructions
- Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
- Following health and safety and food hygiene procedures
- Working efficiently to help the team meet production targets
- Identifying ways of reducing waste and improving processes
- Supporting colleagues across the production environment
- Completing relevant production records and paperwork

The Apprenticeship
As part of the role, you will work towards a Lean Manufacturing qualification.
