Job Title: Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) (Construction)
Location: Gateshead
Staff may, at times, be required to work at other locations from time to time and will be expected to undertake such travel as is necessary to fulfil the role to the satisfaction of the organisation.
Reports to: Senior Quality Manager
Job Purpose: You will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of our educational programmes. As an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), you will ensure that our training delivery meets the highest standards of excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance: Oversee and conduct regular verification and audits of contracts and qualifications to ensure compliance with internal standards and external expectations including Awarding Bodies and Ofsted.
- Standardisation: Develop and deliver standardisation practices and meetings to ensure consistency in assessment decisions and training across all allocated contracts.
- Observations: Carry out observations of teaching, learning and assessment on all delivery staff as required and keep record up to date.
- Stakeholders: Work effectively with external stakeholders and build positive working relationships.
- Training and Development: Support the professional development of tutors through coaching, mentoring and delivering training on quality best practices.
- Compliance: Stay informed about changes in the educational landscape, regulations and accreditations to ensure we remain complaint as a provider.
- Collaboration: Build effective working relationships with colleagues including, tutors, curriculum development, data and compliance and managers to drive continuous improvement.
General Accountabilities:
- Meet KPI’s and targets associated with the role.
- Ensure up to date knowledge of external review from Awarding Organisations, End Point Assessment Organisations and Ofsted requirements.
- Participate in ongoing research and professional development.

Essential Skills and Personal Attributes
- Education – Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. Level 3 (or above) in Education and Training / PTLLS or equivalent. Minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English.
- Experience – Proven experience in quality assurance within education. Sector skill competency in construction sector to meet Awarding Organisation requirements.
- Knowledge – Strong understanding of assessment and verification processes. Good understanding of Apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, Adult Education and Study Programmes.
- Skills – Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide constructive feedback and facilitate professional development.
- Attention to detail – Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- IT Skills – Competency in using Microsoft Office suite and educational software including E-portfolios.
