Job Description:

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Duration Approx. 18 months (including end-point assessment)

Salary: Apprenticeship rate (in line with National Minimum Wage for Apprentices)

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, values-led organisation based in North Shields. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to begin a career in business administration while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administrative operations of the organisation, gaining hands-on experience across a range of business and office functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries professionally
  • Providing general administrative support to the office team
  • Maintaining accurate records, files, and electronic databases
  • Assisting with data entry and document preparation
  • Supporting meeting coordination, including note-taking when required
  • Assisting with HR and recruitment administration tasks
  • Supporting basic finance-related administrative duties (e.g. invoices, timesheets)
  • Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements
  • Supporting managers and colleagues with ad-hoc administrative tasks

Skills & Personal Qualities

Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload effectively
  • Professional attitude with strong attention to detail

Desirable

  • Interest in business administration or office-based roles
  • Previous office or administrative experience (not essential)
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to work towards these

Training & Development

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship
  • Structured off-the-job training with a training provider
  • Ongoing workplace support and mentoring
  • Development of transferable skills to support future career progression
