Business Administration Apprentice
Location: Middle Engine Lane, North Shields NE29 8DZ
Job Description:
Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Duration Approx. 18 months (including end-point assessment)
Salary: Apprenticeship rate (in line with National Minimum Wage for Apprentices)
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, values-led organisation based in North Shields. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to begin a career in business administration while working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administrative operations of the organisation, gaining hands-on experience across a range of business and office functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries professionally
- Providing general administrative support to the office team
- Maintaining accurate records, files, and electronic databases
- Assisting with data entry and document preparation
- Supporting meeting coordination, including note-taking when required
- Assisting with HR and recruitment administration tasks
- Supporting basic finance-related administrative duties (e.g. invoices, timesheets)
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements
- Supporting managers and colleagues with ad-hoc administrative tasks
Skills & Personal Qualities
Essential
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage workload effectively
- Professional attitude with strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Interest in business administration or office-based roles
- Previous office or administrative experience (not essential)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or willingness to work towards these
Training & Development
- Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship
- Structured off-the-job training with a training provider
- Ongoing workplace support and mentoring
- Development of transferable skills to support future career progression
